Klaviyo pricing for a growing online store: 500 to 150,000 profiles
What Klaviyo's email plan costs as the list grows, the odd steps between 10,000 and 20,000 profiles, and a year of cost at each size.
The short answer
Klaviyo prices its email plan by the number of active profiles, and each size comes with a send allowance of ten times the profiles. On the pricing page the plan is $20 a month at 500 profiles, $100 at 5,000, $150 at 10,000, $375 at 20,000, $720 at 50,000 and $1,955 at 150,000. The price per thousand profiles falls from $40 at the smallest size to about $13 at the largest, but not in a straight line: from 10,000 to 13,500 profiles the page adds $25 for every 500 profiles, then only $25 for the whole jump from 13,500 to 15,000 and only $25 more for the jump from 15,000 to 20,000.
That shape matters for a store that is growing, because the cost of the next thousand subscribers is very uneven. Our existing comparison of Klaviyo and Omnisend stops at 10,000 contacts, so this guide covers the rest of the ladder. Prices are in US dollars on a monthly basis as the page shows them, and they are list prices, not a total cost: SMS and the Marketing plan are priced separately or on request. For the comparison with Omnisend see Klaviyo vs Omnisend, for other pricing units our guide to email marketing pricing for online stores, and the Klaviyo product page.
The email plan by size
| Active profiles | Price a month | Emails a month | Per 1,000 profiles |
|---|---|---|---|
| 500 | $20 | 5,000 | $40.00 |
| 1,000 | $30 | 10,000 | $30.00 |
| 2,500 | $60 | 25,000 | $24.00 |
| 5,000 | $100 | 50,000 | $20.00 |
| 10,000 | $150 | 100,000 | $15.00 |
| 15,000 | $350 | 150,000 | $23.33 |
| 20,000 | $375 | 200,000 | $18.75 |
| 25,000 | $400 | 250,000 | $16.00 |
| 30,000 | $500 | 300,000 | $16.67 |
| 50,000 | $720 | 500,000 | $14.40 |
| 100,000 | $1,380 | 1,000,000 | $13.80 |
| 150,000 | $1,955 | 1,500,000 | $13.03 |
The page also shows a limited-time first-month offer on the smallest size, and a Free plan for up to 250 active profiles with 500 emails a month. Above 150,000 profiles it asks you to contact sales. The Email plan lists 400+ integrations, A/B testing, a social content library, audience and conversion dashboards and sender-reputation security features; the Marketing plan adds channels such as mobile push and predictive analytics and showed "Custom, contact sales" when we read the page. The per-thousand column is our arithmetic (price divided by profiles in thousands).
The steps between 10,000 and 20,000 profiles
| Active profiles | Price a month | Change from the row above |
|---|---|---|
| 10,000 | $150 | - |
| 10,500 | $175 | +$25 |
| 11,000 | $200 | +$25 |
| 11,500 | $225 | +$25 |
| 12,000 | $250 | +$25 |
| 12,500 | $275 | +$25 |
| 13,000 | $300 | +$25 |
| 13,500 | $325 | +$25 |
| 15,000 | $350 | +$25 for 1,500 more profiles |
| 20,000 | $375 | +$25 for 5,000 more profiles |
Read plainly, a store with 13,500 profiles pays $325 a month, and the next price on the slider is $350 at 15,000. At 20,000 it is $375, only $25 more than at 15,000 and $50 more than at 13,500. The page does not explain the pattern and we do not infer a reason. What a store can do with it is price its list at the next published size rather than just above a step: a list that is growing past 13,500 profiles will not pay much more at 20,000 than at 15,000. Which profiles count as active is set out in Klaviyo's help pages and summarised in our pricing-units guide.
A growing store, year by year
| List size | Price a month | Twelve months | Emails a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5,000 profiles | $100 | $1,200 | 50,000 |
| 10,000 profiles | $150 | $1,800 | 100,000 |
| 20,000 profiles | $375 | $4,500 | 200,000 |
| 50,000 profiles | $720 | $8,640 | 500,000 |
A store whose list doubles each year from 5,000 to 10,000 to 20,000 to 50,000 profiles would see its annual Email plan bill go from $1,200 to $1,800, $4,500 and $8,640, assuming the prices shown stay the same, which Klaviyo does not promise. The send allowance is ten times the profiles, so a list emailed four times a month uses 40% of it; the allowance is rarely the binding limit, and the profile count is. For what happens when you exceed a profile or send allowance, see Klaviyo's help page on how billing works and our pricing-units guide.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
- How much does Klaviyo cost for 10,000 profiles?
On the pricing page the Email plan is $150 a month at 10,000 active profiles, with 100,000 emails a month. At 5,000 profiles it is $100 and at 20,000 it is $375.
- Is there a free plan?
Yes. The page lists a Free plan for up to 250 active profiles with 500 emails a month, and a limited-time first-month offer on the smallest paid size.
- Why does the price step so unevenly?
The page shows $25 steps every 500 profiles from 10,000 to 13,500, then $350 at 15,000 and $375 at 20,000. It gives no reason, so we only report the figures.
- How many emails can I send?
The Email plan lists ten times the number of profiles a month, for example 100,000 emails at 10,000 profiles. How Klaviyo handles overage is described in its help pages.

The page asks you to contact sales for a custom plan at 150,000 profiles and above.
