Cookies and tracking
The public pages of this site set no cookies and load no analytics, advertising or social-media scripts. Everything on a page comes from our own server. The only cookie this site sets is a sign-in cookie for our own staff on the administration area; readers never receive it. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling, we do not sell data, and no data from this site is sent to any AI service.
Server logs
Our web server records an access log for security and fault-finding: your IP address, the time, the page requested, the response status and size, your browser’s User-Agent and the page you came from. We delete these log files after about 30 days.
The server also keeps system messages (for example errors and failed secure connections) that can contain an IP address. They are kept in the server’s system log, which at present has no fixed time limit; we do not promise a period for them.
Partner-link clicks
When you follow a “Visit” link we record which link and page it was, the time, a coarse traffic channel (for example “search”), whether the visit looks like a bot, a random reference number, and a country code if our host provides one (it does not at present). This record does not contain your IP address or browser details. To avoid counting the same visit twice we also keep a code derived from them with a secret key; it changes every day, so it cannot be used to recognise you on another day.
Our target is to keep individual click records for no longer than 13 months and afterwards only totals that identify nobody. Automatic deletion is not in place yet: until it is, these records are kept without an automatic end date, and we will update this notice when deletion starts. A click that a partner commission refers to is kept together with that commission record for as long as it is needed to account for that commission.
E-mail you send us
If you write to info@latynextrade.com we use your message and address only to answer you. The mailbox is provided by Namecheap Private Email. Our target is to keep correspondence for 12 months after the matter is closed, and longer only where a legal obligation requires it. Deletion is done by hand; there is no automatic deletion.
Where the data is kept, and backups
The site runs on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. Every day an encrypted backup of the site’s database is made; it contains the click records above and our staff’s sign-in data. Copies on our server are kept for 30 days. Encrypted copies are also stored on Google Drive; they are encrypted before they leave our server. Encrypted copies on Google Drive are currently kept until we delete them by hand; we plan to introduce deletion after 30 days and will update this notice when it is in place. Data deleted from the live system disappears from backups when the backup is deleted.
Our own staff
Our staff sign in to an administration area. We keep sign-in attempts and session information for security (our target is no longer than 90 days; this deletion is not automated yet) and an audit trail of edits, which we keep for as long as the financial and editorial records it explains.
Do you have to give us your data?
No law or contract requires you to give us personal data in order to read this site. Your browser sends your IP address and browser details to our server automatically; we need them to deliver the page and they are recorded in the log described above. If you write to us, giving your e-mail address is voluntary, but without it we cannot answer you.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to ask us for access to your personal data and for its rectification or erasure, to ask us to restrict its processing, and to object to processing. Where the conditions of the Regulation are met you also have the right to receive your data in a portable format; that right applies only to processing that is based on consent or a contract and carried out by automated means. Write to info@latynextrade.com. We hold no account or profile for readers, so for most readers there is nothing beyond the records above. We do not know who a log or click record belongs to, so we may ask for details (for example your IP address and the time) to find it; click records reduced to totals cannot be found.
Your right to object
Where we process your data because of our legitimate interests, you can object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation. We then stop that processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds, as the GDPR provides.
If you think we handle your data unlawfully you may also lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority, in particular in the country where you live, work or where the alleged infringement took place.
